What a fantastic few days at SAMERC 2026! 🚨
ISH24 was proud to be back as a Premium Sponsor for this year's mine emergency response competition.
Across three days at the MFS Angle Park Training Centre, teams tested their skills, teamwork and readiness in Fire Fighting, Mass Casualty, Vertical Rescue, SCBA Search & Rescue, Industrial Rescue, Road Crash Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Surface Rescue, and Team Skills and Theory.
Teams came from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and New Zealand, with two mutual aid teams including the ISH24 Women's Rescue Team who had a fantastic performance!
Huge congratulations to the BHP Prominent Hill team for being the overall first place winners! 🏆
And a special mention to the winner of the ISH24 stand contest - Carabiner Chaos.
How fast do you think you could put on 20 different carabiners and take them all off again?
Congratulations to Dale from Prominent Hill, who won with a record time of 1 minute 11 seconds and took home the grand prize for his team! 🏆🎶
Thanks to everyone who came along to this great event. See you next year!

🏆 NERC 2026 is done and dusted! Congratulations to the winners! 👏
After returning for the first time since 2019, PNG’s National Emergency Response Challenge has brought emergency response teams together to put their skills, teamwork and readiness to the test across a range of realistic emergency scenarios.
ISH24 was proud to sponsor the Search & Rescue scenario, supporting an event that showcases the capability, professionalism and dedication of emergency response teams across the industry.
Congratulations to all the teams who competed, and a special congratulations to the overall challenge winners - New Porgera Limited (who also took home the event trophies for Ropes and Theory)!🏆
Events like NERC are an important opportunity to challenge capabilities, strengthen teamwork and recognise the people who stand ready to respond when it matters most.
A great result for emergency response in Papua New Guinea. We’re proud to have been part of it!

That’s amazing!!
Well done legends!
The ISH24 Women’s Rescue Team is back in action at SAMERC! 💪⛑️♀️
After stellar results at VMRC earlier this year, the team is now putting their skills to the test in SA.
This is a mutual aid team, with members from different sites, different industries and even different countries (we see you, Canada🍁). Every member brings her own experience, skills and perspective, and that’s where the team’s strength lies. Their diversity makes them more adaptable and better prepared for whatever a scenario throws at them.
After just two days of training together, they're ready to take on SAMERC!
Good luck, ladies. We’re proud to be in your corner!

Well done girls! Awesome work. First all female team. 💕💕 SAMERC committee, volunteers and sponsors are a passionate group of people making a huge difference in the Mining ER community. I hope they don’t have to be involved in any major ER disaster in the mining industry but if they do, everyone is in safe hands! 💕
There’s a familiar face, good luck team.
