COURSE DETAILS
ISH24 deliver training in UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel training for workers who may be required to perform an emergency rescue from live low voltage electrical apparatus.
This course covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment, not including overhead lines and underground cables.
Our LV Rescue training course includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
Mandatory pre-requisite:
Students enrolling into this unit must hold current competency in HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Our public training courses include the CPR component as part of the training.
COURSE CONTENT
The following subjects will be covered as part of the training:
Prepare to perform rescue procedures from live LV panel
- Workplace requirements for the rescue are identified and confirmed
- Electricity isolation point is identified
- Rescue equipment including personal protective equipment (PPE) is obtained and inspected in accordance with workplace requirements
Carry out rescue from live LV panel
- Situation is assessed, and rescue response is activated in accordance with workplace requirements
- Casualty is removed from the live LV panel in accordance with workplace requirements
Complete the LV panel rescue procedure
- Casualty is assessed in accordance with workplace requirements
- Incident site is secured and entry controlled in accordance with workplace requirements
- Incident is reported in accordance with workplace requirements
DURATION
LV Rescue only – 1 half-day course (approximately 5 hours)
LV Rescue & CPR – 1 full day (approximately 8 hours)
DELIVERY MODE
Face to face
There are no pre-reading requirements. All content is covered in class as part of the training.
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
Students will be required to complete a written theory assessment as well as a practical demonstration assessment.
Theory Assessment
Mixture of multiple choice and short answer questions. Student will be required to write down their own answers.
For students with learning disabilities or lack of English proficiency, reasonable adjustment may be applicable on a case-by-case basis. Please give us a call on 1300 001 201 to discuss your specific learning needs.
Practical Assessment
Each student will be required to participate in at least one practical scenario which will assess their ability to:
- identify organisational rescue requirements
- identify hazards, assessing risks and applying control measures
- identify the isolation point
- confirm voltage(s) and related safe approach distance(s)
- obtain and inspecting rescue equipment
- fit rescue personal protective equipment (PPE)
- perform a rescue from a live low voltage (LV) panel in accordance with workplace requirements.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Course Pre-Requisite
Pre-requisite Units
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
and
UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
or
UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
ISH24 deliver training in UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel in conjunction with the added pre-requisite UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace.
Since students enrolling into this unit must also hold current competency in HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, learners can either provide copies of their CPR competency ahead of the course start or we can schedule a session for your team to also include HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Age Requirements
Students must be 16 years of age or older. Participants under 18 years of age will be required to provide parental consent to attend training.
Fitness Requirements
Students must be relatively fit and able to perform the activities outlined in the Assessment Requirements in order to be accurately assessed and deemed competent.
Given the nature of the practical assessment, students must be at a minimum fit to climb and crawl, and not have a fear of heights.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy
Sound reading and writing skills required to undertake the written assessment. Reasonable adjustment may be applicable on a case-by-case basis. Please get in contact with us if you have any questions regarding the minimum LLN requirements.

FAQ & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Is LVR Training mandatory?
In Australia, government regulations emphasise the necessity of appropriate training for workers involved in low voltage electrical tasks to ensure safety and compliance. While specific low voltage rescue (LVR) training is not explicitly mandated in the publicly available regulations, employers are required to provide necessary information, instruction, training, or supervision to employees to ensure the safe use of electrical equipment in the workplace.

It is considered best practice for employers to ensure that workers are adequately trained to perform rescues from live low voltage apparatus, thereby enhancing workplace safety and compliance.
How often should I complete LV rescue training?
LV rescue competency does not formally have an expiry date.
However, it is best practice to refresh your training every 12 months (or in line with your workplace procedures).
The “refresher” training is also a half-day course.
Can you deliver CPR & LV rescue together?
Yes, we can customise the training delivery to each client’s needs and can definitely include HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel into one full-day course (approximately 8 hours).

Yes! We can definitely deliver workplace training. Please give us a call at 1300 001 201 to discuss your training needs further and receive a quote for on-site training.
Do you take large group bookings for LV rescue training?
Currently, any courses delivered at our training facilities are capped at 10-12 students per class.
For on-site training, we may be able to deliver training to larger groups; however, that is dependent on the type of training being delivered and the size of the available facilities.
